Nokia announced two new sliding phones - Nokia 6700 Slide and Nokia 7230. Both of them has middle class set of technical characteristics and are positioned as devices for social networks users.

Nokia 6700 Slide has steel case and runs on Symbian S60 operating system. There is also 2.2 inch screen, 5 Mp camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microSD memory card slot. Available colors will be pink, silver, blue, green, red and violet.

In contrast to the 6700 Slide Nokia 7230 runs on Series 40 platform, has 2.4 inch screen and 3.2 Mp camera. Other technical specifications are identical. Both these mobile phones will become available in the beginning of 2010. Nokia 6700 Slide will cost EUR160 and Nokia 7230 will cost EUR100.

Together with its first netbook Nokia announced Nokia 5230. It is simplified version of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. It has not so impressive set of technical features and but costs only €149. Nokia 5230 is equipped with 3.2 inch touch screen with 640×360 px resolution, 2 Mp camera with autofocus and flash, 0.3 Mp camera for video calls, FM radio, 70 Mb built in memory, microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack and 1350 mAh battery. Supported network standards are GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA/HSDPA. The operating system is Symbian S60 5th Edition. Nokia 5230 will become available in the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year.

Recently Samsung introduced Jet S8000 and Omnia II i8000 devices. But according some sources the producers is almost ready to show one more smartphone. It is Samsung M8000. The operating system of this mobile device is Symbian S60v5. This phone supports third generation networks and has 800 MHz CPU, touch screen with 360×640 px resolution, 3.2 Mp camera with flash, microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and 3.5 mm audio jack. It is expected that this phone will be positioned as advanced music mobile device.

Today Nokia announced some new mobile devices. One of them is Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. This smartphone is heir of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and also has monoblock shape factor and big touch screen with tactile feedback technology support. But the list of other technical characteristics is not so impressive. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has 2.9 inch touch screen with 640×360 px resolution and 262K colors, 3.2 Mp camera with autofocusing and flash, FM radio with RDS, 70 Mb built in memory, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, 3.5 mm audio jack and 1000 mAh battery. The operating system is S60 5th Edition. Supported network standards are GSM/GPRS/EDGE 800/900/1800/1900 MHz. Nokia 5530 XpressMusic will become available by the end of the third quarter of this year and will cost €200.

At last SE company officially announced its new “flagman” mobile phone. It is Sony Ericsson Satio which is also known as Idou. The operating system is Symbian (S60 5th Edition) so this device belongs to smartphones class. The most remarkable feature is 12.1 Mp camera with 12-x digital zoom, autofocusing and face detection function. Sony Ericsson Satio has 3.5 inch touch screen with 360×640 px resolution, FM radio with RDS, 128 Mb built in memory, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, G-sensor, TV out and GPS module. Supported network standards are GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA 2100 MHz.

The first information about Nokia 5900 XpressMusic has just appeared in the global network. Nokia company hasn’t officially confirmed this information. So, it is possible that this mobile phone is a Chinese clone. But I hope it is real and will soon become available. In contrast to its predecessor – Nokia 5800 – this mobile device has 3.5 inch touch screen, 5 Mp camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The platform is the same – S60 5th Edition. It is also expected that Nokia 5900 XpressMusic will have 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, microSD memory card slot and FM radio. The release will take place in a next few months.

Nokia has just officially announced Nokia E52 smartphone. This device has nice looking steel case and nice set of technical characteristics. According to the producer E52 features long-living battery which provides up to 28 days of idle mode. The operating system is Symbian 9.3 S60 3 edition FP2. The screen of this smartphone has 2.4 inch diagonal and supports 240×320 px resolution. This mobile device also has ARM 11 600 MHz CPU, 3.2 Mp camera with autofocus and flash, additional 0.3 Mp camera for video calls, FM radio, 60 Mb built in memory, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, A-GPS support and 3.5 mm audio jack. Nokia E52 will become available in the third quarter of this year.

Samsung OMNIA HD i8910 is also known as Acme. It has 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen. According to the name of this device it gas advanced video features. It supports HD video recording functions. Due to DNLA technology future owners of this mobile phone will also have an opportunity to view HD video on TV set. According to the producer the screen supports Standard Definition and High Definition. Another remarkable feature is 8 Mp camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection, smile detection and panorama functions support. Samsung OMNIA HD i8910 runs on Symbian S60 5th Edition and supports GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) и UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850/1900/2100 MHz). It also has 8 or 16 Gb memory, microSD/HC card slot (up to 32 Gb), FM radio with RDS, GPS, accelerometer, stereo loud speakers, 1500 mAh battery, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 modules.

Nokia officially introduced its Nokia N86 smartphone on Mobile World Congress 2009. It is first Nokia’s sliding phone with 8 Mp camera which features Carl Zeiss Tessar wide-angle lens and double LED flash. To store photos Nokia N86 has 8 Gb built in memory and microSD card slot (up to 16 Gb). The platform of this mobile device is S60 3rd Edition, FP2. The list of other characteristics include 2.6 inch OLED screen with QVGA resolution, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, GPS, TV out, 3.5 mm audio jack and 1200 mAh battery. Supported network standards are GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, UMTS/HSDPA 900/1900/2100 MHz. It is expected this 8 Mp smartphone will become available in the second quarter. Approximate price is 375 euro.

Sony Ericsson has just announced its coming mobile phone which code name is Idou. It is high-end cameraphone with advanced characteristics. It has classic shape factor and correspond to “e2e” design standards. The front surface is covered with 3.5 inch TFT touch screen with 360×640 px resolution screen. Sony Ericsson Idou also features 12.1 Mp camera with xenon flash gun, Wi-Fi and GPS modules. It is notable that it runs on Symbian operating system. The list of features also includes microSD/microSDHC card slot, FM Radio with RDS and additional camera for video calls. It is expected that it this remarkable mobile device will become available in the second half of this year.
