BlackBerry Curve 8350i official announce

In the October it was rumored that Research in Motion company is going to introduce BlackBerry Curve 8350i. So recently Sprint mobile operator officially announced this mobile device. As many other RIM’s phones it has classic shape factor and QWERTY keyboard, track ball and horizontal screen. Curve 8350i mobile phone has all necessary modules that present day mobile devices need: 2 Mp camera, Wi-Fi and GPS modules, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and microSD memory card slot. The screen supports 240×320 px resolution and 65k colors. BlackBerry Curve 8350i will cost $150 with two year contract.

Long-awaited BlackBerry Storm

At last RIM (Research In Motion) company introduced BlackBerry Storm which is the first touch screen smartphone of this company. Almost all control functions are performed by means of touch user interface. There is even haptic response technology support not to mention gestures recognition. Due to built in accelerometer this mobile phone switches screen orientation automatically. Depending on the mode you can use SureType or QWERTY keyboard. HTML browser also supports horizontal and vertical mode. Among technical features we can mark out 3.25 inch touch screen with 480×360 px resolution, 3.2 Mp camera, GPS module, 1 Gb built in memory, 1400 mAh battery, microSD card slot, 3.5 mm audio jack and Bluetooth (A2DP/AVRCP). BlackBerry Storm will be introduced in two variants. BlackBerry Storm 9530 is for US mobile market and will support. CDMA EV-DO Revision A, UMTS/HSPA (2100 MHz) and EDGE/GPRS/GSM. European version will support UMTS/HSPA (2100 MHz) and EDGE/GPRS/GSM

The first BlackBerry clamshell phone

Research In Motion company officially introduced it first BlackBerry clamshell smartphone. BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 was known under the code name of KickStart. One of the most interesting features is UMA technology support which provides “sutureless” roaming between usual and Wi-Fi networks. Large external screen displays information about missed calls, emails and text messages. Other features of this new mobile phone are:

  • GSM/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • SureType keyboard
  • 2 Mp camera with flash gun and digital zoom
  • microSD card slot
  • size 99×48x17.7 mm

BlackBerry 8220 KickStart and BlackBerry 8210 SeaWolf

CrackBerry source published review of if first BlackBerry clamshell phone – 8220 KickStart. According to source RIM is going to produce another clamshell phone – 8210 SeaWolf with built in GPS module. BlackBerry 8220 KickStart and BlackBerry 8210 SeaWolf are identical with the exception of this GPS navigator function. To compensate this disadvantage KickStart mobile phone has Wi-Fi. It said that BlackBerry 8220 will be available for T-Mobile clients. The date of official release is September.
