Today together with Milestone 2 Motorola announced one more smartphone – Motorola Defy. The main feature of this high-end device is that is has rugged case that is dust and water resistant. The screen is covered with Gorilla glass. In other respects it is typical present-day smartphone. It runs on Google Android 2.1 and is equipped with 3.7 inch touch screen with 480×854px resolution, 5 Mp camera with autofocus and LED flash, 1.25 GB internal storage, MicroSD external memory card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphones jack. The battery has 1540 mAh capacity and provided about 9 hours of talk time or 17 days of idle. The smartphone measures 107х59х13.4mm and weights 118g. It is expected that Motorola Defy will become available in November.

This device is the first Sony Ericsson’s smartphone designed for Chinese market. That means that this high-end device supports TD-SCDMA network standard (Chinese 3G). Sony Ericsson A8i is very close to Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. It has the same design but the list of specifications differs. Sony Ericsson A8i runs on OPhone OS 2.0 (Chinese version of Android) and is equipped with 3.5 inch touch screen with 480×854px resolution, 5 Mp camera with autofocus and flash, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, digital compass, CNMB TV tuner, FM radio, accelerometer, 3.5mm headphones jack, 200 Mb internal storage, microSD external memory card slot. Today Dell launched its new smartphone that will become available in AT&T shops for $300 or for $100 with two-year contract. It is a little bit confusing fact that this device runs on Google Android 1.5. But it is expected that the version of operating system will be updated to 2.1 in near future. In other respects Dell Aero is quite usual present-day smartphone. Innocomm Technology company showed its coming smartphone on Computex 2010 exhibition. Innocomm Shark is powered by Google’s Android 2.1 operating system and supports 3.5G networks. The main feature of this high-end smartphone is analogue TV tuner. The list of other specifications include 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen with 480×800px resolution, 8 Mp camera, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, GPS, MicroSD external memory card slot. This Android smartphone will become available in next few weeks and will cost about $500.

One of Chinese mobile device producers has just launched its clone of Google Nexus One. The device has the same design as original smartphone but unfortunately it has different list of specifications. It is based on MTK platform and is equipped with 3.5 inch touch screen with 320×480px resolution, 2 Mp camera, 2 Mp camera, frontal 0.3 Mp camera for video calls, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Fm radio, microSD external memory card slot. Besides, as many other Chinese phone this device supports Dual-SIM function.

South Korean Pantech company has just unveiled its new smartphone running on Google Android 2.1 operating system. Pantech Sirius features 3.7 inch AMOLED multi-touch screen with 800×480px resolution and 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Other characteristics are 5 Mp camera with autofocus and flash, Wi-Fi, T-DMB TV tuner, GPS, 500 Mb internal space (OS and space for the default program installation), microSD memory card slot (up to 32 GB). The dimensions are 123.5×63.5×11.5mm Pantech Sirius will become available in South Korea by the end of this month and will cost $810. In other countries it will be released some months later.
